Description of Alley Cat
If there were an award for 'most enduring gameplay per KB of data,' Alley Cat would have won my vote. In what seems like an incredible feat of programming, Bill Williams was able to pack hours of fun and diverse gameplay into only 38KB of space. As an alley cat, evade dogs, humans, and other obstacles to rescue your sweetheart.
One of the most amazing things about the game is that it actually sets its own clock speed so that the speed of your computer is irrelevant. This means you don't need Moslo to enjoy the game :)

Another game that came from one of mum Dad’s friends at work.
I could solve most of the levels but the fish tank one was nearly impossible.

Just one of so many games I remember playing on the class computers at school. I actually hadn't known about this being one of those games that was clock adaptive. Of course those school computers were all 8088s even into the mid 90s.

I remember Alley Cat fondly.
It was one of the games we had available in our then-newer after-school 'Computer Club', alongside California Games, Lode Runner, etc..
Filled to the brim with Apple Computers, during school time the 'computer lab' was used for early computer skills classes, such as teaching early word processing using WordStar (Ctrl-B, Ctrl-K to mark the start & end of a '[B]loc[K]' of text to Cut n Paste elsewhere) -- popular up to 1985, when WordPerfect became more popular, and later of course MS Word.
But during lunch break and after school, the lab became a hub of BBS activity and games.
Alley Cat, here, was very popular at the time!

I remember when my brother brought this home on the old 5' floppy disk! Played it all the time on my TANDY 1000 ex. RIP tandy 1000.???? that machine lasted! We only got rid of it because we got a computer with internet and a mouse (yeah, we went high tech) ????

My sister and I used to play this on our IBM-XT; I'll be sending this to her along with all of the other classics we used to play on that machine.
RIP IBM-XT.

Dang I wish they would make a new version of this with decent colors. That would be just awesome! So many imaginative minigames. I love knocking the fish bowl off the shelf! HAHAHHA.
