The Stereo Pipeline

The NASA Ames Stereo Pipeline (ASP) is a suite of free and open sourceautomated geodesy and stereogrammetry tools designed for processingstereo imagery captured from satellites (around Earth and otherplanets), robotic rovers, aerial cameras, and historical imagery, withand without accurate camera pose information. It produces cartographicproducts, including digital elevation models (DEMs), ortho-projectedimagery, 3D models, and bundle-adjusted networks of cameras. ASP'sdata products are suitable for science analysis, mission planning, andpublic outreach.

The Stereo Pipeline is part of the NASA NeoGeography Toolkit.

Nasa Transmit Mac OS

The vast majority of machines used in NASA (and the rest of the Federal government) are Windows machines. This is in large part due to a cost saving comment made by the then CIO at JSC, Jack Garman, who was a sort of computer hero of Apollo 13 who. The next time NASA launches a craft into space, it may receive many of its navigational instructions from programs run on the Mac. That's a possibility espoused by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Downloading and Installation

  1. Mac OS X is the new Unix based version of the Macintosh operating system. It combines a high performance DisplayPDF user interface with a standard BSD UNIX subsystem and provides users with simultaneous access to a broad range of applications which were not previously available on a single system such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop, as well as legacy X11-based scientific tools.
  2. Operating Systems: Windows 7 or higher, Mac OS 10.8 or higher. Browsers: Internet Explorer 10 or higher, Safari 6 or higher, Firefox 31or higher, Chrome 36 or higher. Original Java-based Simulator. PC Operating Systems: Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows 98SE.

The latest Stereo Pipeline binary distribution is available below. Please install ISIS if you would like to process NASA non-terrestrial imagery. Users wishing to process Digital Globe, GeoEye, or generic frame camera imagery do not need to download anything else.
