GPS needs XQuartz (X11 support for Mac OS X). Earlier versions of GPS actually run under X11; GNAT GPL 2014’s GPS doesn’t need it to run but still requires a libpng from XQuartz. Late to the punch, but I'm sure people still have this problem. Found a workaround: It seems Cupertino is just dyslexic.
- From the Library > Podcasts main view, choose a podcast from the list.
- To make sure we're using the same view, go: View > View As > List
- Click the settings sprocket near the top-right of the main area displaying the episodes
- Switch 'Play' over to 'Newest to Oldest'
- Click Done
This is kind of sad that a bug this simple has slipped through the cracks at least twice. I remember a previous version of iTunes that suffered this same flaw, seemingly around a redesign which brought big changes to the Podcast portion of iTunes.
Anyway, there you go. Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6 (16G1114), iTunes 12.7.2.58.
Just remember to change it back once Apple fixes the bug.
